1945: Henry Edgar Robert Wheeler founded the company to supply pallets to a local paper mill.
1964: Company is incorporated and Herwood Inc. is born.
1965: First phase of expansion as company moves to larger premises in Windsor.
1970: Henry Wheeler’s youngest child, Malcolm, purchase 20% of company shares.
1971: January 8—Herwood burns to the ground.
1971: May—Malcolm Wheeler takes control and rebuilding begins.
1974: Herwood enters into partnership with a lumber company.
1978: Henry Wheeler passes away; annual sales reach $1,000,000.
1990's: Second phase of expansion. Third generation of Wheeler's family enter the business. Current Herwood Inc. President Jason Wheeler joins the company in 1990, and his brother Shane follows in 1997.
2011: Third phase of expansion: New furnaces and plant restructuring to increase the production of wooden pallets and crates. This also improves custom manufacturing and environmental processes.
2014: Sales exceed $10 million and Brent Wheeler makes his way into production, the company now has 4 generations on board.
2015: Addition of a third dryer.
2018: Construction of a specialized warehouse for finished products.
